Heads up! Here's why you should support my Shave for a Cure 🧡

I'm taking part in Shave for a Cure because I want to make a tangible difference in the fight against cancer. It's more than just shaving my head it's a way to stand in solidarity with those affected, raise awareness, and contribute to vital research that could save lives. I've seen how cancer touches so many families, including mine, and I feel compelled to act. By giving up my hair, I hope to spark conversations, inspire donations, and show that even small sacrifices can add up to big change.

My Updates

All about me

Thursday 17th Apr
Hi, I’m Anne-Marie, Annie for short and I’m 52yrs old.  I am a mother of three beautiful children. Two boys and a girl and a grandmother to three.
I run a coffee shop out in the countryside at Himatangi called Coffee Spots.
I am adopted, so had 2 mums and dads.
My mother had bowel cancer over 20 years ago and was very lucky.  She ended up in critical care as her bowel burst. She had a colostomy bag for 3 months, then they reversed it. No chemo, no radiation!
She passed away 2 yrs ago to another illness.
My birth mother also had bowel cancer, but she found it at stage 4.  The cruel disease took her not long after finding out.
I have also had cancer.  I went to the doctor with a white spot on my nose. It turned out to be basal cell carcinoma.  Before the surgery, I told the doctor about another spot on my shoulder. That to turn out to be cancerous. Then they contacted me to say that they had not got enough of a margin on my nose. Either cut more out or radiation. I chose radiation, 20 treatments!
So live each day, as if it was your last.  Be thankful for every day you wake up.
We take so much for granted.
Lots of luffs to all
