Ready to go big? Here’s how to boost your impact.

Personalise your page |
- Add a profile photo – your supporters like to see it’s
you or an image they can relate to. - Update your story. What is motivating you to shave and connect
with the cause? Your story will inspire others! - Post updates, images and videos directly to your page.
- Don’t be afraid to set a high fundraising goal – challenge yourself!
- A good way to kick-start your fundraising is by donating to your own
page if you can. Set the bar and others will follow.

Reach out personally |
- Send a message with your fundraising link directly to friends
and family via email, text or socials. - Don’t underestimate the power of asking directly.
It’s heartfelt and super effective.

Get social |
- Share your fundraising page across your socials regularly.
- Share before-and-after pics of your bold new ‘do –
your bravery will get people donating! - See what others are doing with their Shave by following the
hashtag and joining the Shave community.

Team Up |
Taking part as a group? Become a Team Captain and lead your crew to fundraising greatness:
- Spread the word using posters, newsletters, emails, or assemblies
– use whatever it takes to recruit your team! - Stay connected with regular check-ins or brainstorm
sessions can keep the momentum going. - Plan your event. Pick a time, promote it everywhere,
and make it a day to remember.

Workplace fund matching |
- Many companies will support staff fundraising for charities.
- Why not ask your organisation to match whatever you raise to your fundraising page? Business donations are 100% tax deductible.
Event ideas
Crazy Hair Day
You could hold a Crazy Hair Day at work or school! Pick a date, get everyone to show off their best (meaning worst) bad-hair-day looks and collect donations. Feeling brave? Post a selfie on Facebook or Instagram and dare your work to match the number of likes your picture gets with a donation!
Celebrate with a difference
Got a special occasion coming up? Whether you’re having a birthday party, a wedding or celebrating a different milestone, ask guests to give a meaningful gift by donating to your fundraising page in lieu of presents.
Raffle or Auction
Ask friends and colleagues to donate items for a hamper, or approach local businesses to donate products, and raffle it off or hold an auction. You can also set targets for different tasks on your online fundraising page (e.g. the first person to donate $100 gets to cut off your ponytail or shave your hair into whatever funny ‘do’ they want).

Deposit your cash donations at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ).
Please include your name or team name on the bank deposit and ️email us the amount and the link to your fundraising page.
We will load the funds against your page once they are received
into our account (Please note our bank (BNZ) no longer accept cheques).
