Shave for a Cure is Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand’s signature fundraising event.
Over the past fifteen years, Kiwis have registered, fundraised, organised Shaves and shorn their locks for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). And anyone can get involved.
LBC is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families living with a blood cancer or a related blood condition. LBC receives no government funding. With your help we can continue to fund our core services – patient support programmes, research, information, awareness, and advocacy.
Please join us to raise funds for those living with a blood cancer or a related blood condition.
If you, or someone you know, would like to receive support from our patient services, please call our toll free number on 0800 15 10 15 or for more information visit our website www.leukaemia.org.nz.
How your fundraising helps
- $35 provides important information for patients including: a patient information pack, a children’s educational book, a disease specific newsletter and DVD.
- $50 purchases an emergency assistance voucher for patients to ensure they get to hospital for treatment or can buy food for their families.
- $90 provides a counselling session for a patient or grief counselling for a family member of a patient who has passed away.
- $120 contributes to the cost of our support group meetings around the country, ensuring patients have access to information about their condition and can meet other patients going through a similar experience
